San Francisco has a variety of events and activities happening throughout February and March. Below are a few highlights you may be interested in exploring this month:

Lunar New Year Festival & Parade
Hosted by Chinese Chamber of Commerce of San Francisco

Local January Events in San Francisco

Hello Residents,

As we welcome the new year, San Francisco has a variety of events and activities happening throughout January. Below are a few highlights you may be interested in exploring this month:

New Year’s Day Celebrations (January 1)
Ring in the new year with scenic walks along the Embarcadero, special museum openings, and festive dining options throughout the city.

SF Sketchfest (Mid-January)
San Francisco’s annual comedy festival returns with stand-up, improv, and live podcasts featuring both local and nationally recognized performers at venues across the city.

Museum & Cultural Events
January is a great time to visit local museums such as SFMOMA, the de Young, and the Asian Art Museum, many of which feature new exhibits and special programs this month.

Outdoor Activities
Take advantage of mild winter weather with hikes at Lands End, walks through Golden Gate Park, or visits to neighborhood farmers markets held throughout the city.

March Events in San Francisco:

  • SailGP:
    • Witness the thrill of high-speed racing on San Francisco Bay at the SailGP Grand Prix, March 22-23, 2025. Experience cutting-edge hydrofoiling catamarans reaching speeds of nearly 60 mph, powered by nature’s elements. A $7 million prize is on the line!
  • KNBR/Giants FanFest:
    • Join fellow Giants fans at Oracle Park on March 8th for the KNBR & Giants FanFest. Enjoy interactive games, displays, and meet-and-greets with Giants players. Get autographs, photos, and participate in Q&A sessions. This event is free and open to everyone!
  • Flower Bulb Day:
    • Experience a vibrant display of over 80,000 tulips at Union Square on March 22nd, 2025. Flower Bulb Day is coming to America! Come and pick your own bouquet of beautiful tulips.
  • St. Patrick’s Day Parade:
    • Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with one of San Francisco’s most beloved annual parades, and one of the oldest in the U.S. On Saturday, March 15th, the parade will begin at the corner of 2nd and Market Streets, proceeding to Civic Center. Enjoy live music, dance, traditional Irish food, and festive beverages.
